Jersey donations for the 2024 summer football camp.  They were a HUGE hit!  All the kids at camp wanted one.

DAN AND ABI HAVE A CAR!

God is amazing!  And this is OUR NEW CAR!!

From Dan:

We're SO EXCITED!  God has provided what we needed, and after 5 months we have been able to buy our new car.  It's a great car, only 4 years old, and with not many miles.  It has a big enough trunk and we'll be able to use it for our mountain adventures. Praise God!

New Teepees!

Through our 2023 auction we were able to fund 1/2 of a teepee. There are 13 teepees that are home to the campers during camp.

Maxwell lives in the desert of West Pokot, hours from the closest dentist.  His dad works for Kenya Gather.  He doesn't own a vehicle so getting his son to the dentist would be very difficult.  We were able to transport them to a dentist so he could get his teeth removed, allowing the adult teeth to come in properly.

I first encountered Helen and her daughter Salome during my first trip to Kenya in 2018. They live in  the Kaaron village in West Pokot. Salome was born with a cleft lip and palate; while her lip was mended in infancy, her palate remained untreated. In 2019, we facilitated their journey to a clinic where Salome underwent the necessary palate repair surgery. However, upon our arrival for transportation to the hospital, we discovered Salome's mother suffering from a severe foot infection, exacerbated by the absence of proper footwear. Fortunately, Helen underwent a successful foot-saving surgery simultaneously. Helen presented us with a rooster on our most recent trip, marking its significance as the inaugural rooster of Kenya Gather.

Meet Alice, Stephen, and their son Rayan, residents of Siala, Kenya, where Stephen earns a living as a farmer. In the images provided, you'll catch a glimpse of their humble abode. Stephen's life took a tragic turn when his first wife suddenly died of meningitis, leaving him a widower burdened with the care of three young children. Alice entered his life and embraced both Stephen and his children as her own. Together, they expanded their family with the addition of two more children, Rayan being the youngest among them. Sadly, Rayan was born with an umbilical hernia, a condition that necessitated costly surgical intervention, a financial burden beyond their means. In early 2024, Rayan began experiencing abdominal pain, prompting urgent action. With our assistance, Rayan was transported to the nearest city to receive surgery.  Please watch the video where Stephen expresses the profound impact the surgery had on his family.

Meet Maria.  Her aunt is Helen and Salome is her cousin. At just 13 yrs of age, Maria's life has been marked by profound loss, as both her parents tragically passed away, rendering her an orphan. Helen, despite being a widow with the sole the responsibility of caring for numerous children, has opened her home to Maria. Helen works in the mines which is a grueling occupation demanding strenuous labor, barely makes enough to make ends meet. Regrettably, the financial strain has prevented Helen from being able to send all of the children to school. Through OAM, Maria's school fees were covered, affording her the opportunity to join her cousins in pursuing an education.
